Top 5 First Dance Songs

One of my favorite things about wedding days is watching the bride and groom start their life together with a dance.  I especially love finding out what song the couple chooses for this special dance.  I think the music choice is a fabulous representation of the couple and it gives me a little more insight into their taste and lifestyle.  Sometimes I even tear up while watching the happy couple and thinking about how momentous of an occasion I am witnessing.

So in the spirit of first dances, here are my personal top 5 first dance songs!

5.  Into the Mystic- Van Morrison

We had several couples dance to this as their first dance this Spring.

4.  Danny’s Song- Kenny Loggins

This would be adorable for a young couple just starting out in their lives!

3.  This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)- Natalie Cole

Natalie's voice makes this song so touching and heartfelt.

2.  For Once In My Life- Stevie Wonder

As a Carolina girl who grew up shag dancing on the boulevard, this is my favorite first dance song!

DIY Wedding!

Today we’re featuring one of the most Do-It-Yourself clients we’ve ever had.  Sable and Joey are an adorable couple from Ohio.  Their wedding was full of rich purples and pinks, with schoolhouse themed accessories…which is perfect since Sable is a teacher.  It was a very intimate gathering with just their families and close friends which made it even more special.  Here are a few pictures (courtesy of Jennifer Bearden Photography) from Sable and Joey’s wedding!

These Looks Are In-Tents!

Like every week I’ve been doing “market research” on different event ideas…aka spending a lot of my free time on Pinterest.  However, I was struck with such awe when I stumbled across a bunch of pins with some swoon-worthy tent inspiration!  Personally, I love tents!  I think they are one of the coolest things to do at an event, but they can look a little empty if not done correctly.  But with the right lighting, usage of color, and floral accents tents can be absolutely magical!

Beautiful Baby's Breath

There’s a new trend in town!  While doing some research (aka spending my days off work on Pinterest) I have noticed that the trendy flower in town is no longer Peonies, but Baby’s Breath.  There are so many ways that people are using the fluffy flowers…from hair accessories to bouquet accents to entire centerpieces.  Baby’s Breath is a godsend for many brides because it is beautiful and romantic but easier on the wallet than other flowers.  Here are some photos that inspired our latest Baby’s Breath obsession!
