Hair & Make-Up Monday

Your wedding day is the one day that you must look absolutely perfect!  After all, you only get one wedding which means only one chance to get it right.  There are tons of great hair stylists and make-up artists out there that can cater looks to exactly what you want.

In addition to making sure that your hair and make-up is flattering on you, you should make sure that your hair and make-up is cohesive to your overall look with your dress, venue, and decor of your wedding.  Here's some pictures of three different looks (glamorous, vintage, and rustic) showing cohesive hair and make-up, dress, and decor.  Enjoy!

Glamorous
This beautiful up-do is perfect with the accessory, but won't take attention away from you or your dress!
This Elie Saab Couture dress is the definition of glamorous.  Also, the make-up is dramatic enough to hold its own next to this dress but not distract from it.
These pale roses in mercury glass with votives add warmth and sparkle to the tables, transforming the event into a soiree.

Vintage
This dress and hair piece evoke feelings of antiquity and reminiscence.  The hair and makeup is flawless following the vintage motif without being too "theme-y".
These colors, Coke bottle style glass, and patterns are the perfect vintage accents to make your guests feel like they've be transported to yesteryear.

Rustic
This dress is beautiful in its simplicity, and the hair and make-up emphasize the chic simplicity.
These burlap and lace bows with sprigs of baby's breath are a sweet detail to make your rustic wedding perfect!

Two 3 Ways Tuesday

In lieu of "Music Monday," this week we are doing "Two 3 Ways Tuesday"!

Two 3 Ways is an absolutely amazing band located here in Charleston, SC.  They are one of our favorite bands to work with.  They bring a high energy feeling to any reception and have an ENORMOUS repertoire of songs to choose from.  In addition to this already massive selection of songs, they will also learn songs that are special to you and your guests that they don't already know.  For a wedding we planned in June, they learned The Time by Black Eyed Peas and performed it flawlessly because that was one of the bride and groom's favorite songs.

I can't say enough good things about this band, but if you want to see for yourself, here's the link to their website where you can hear them perform some songs and check out their song list.

Peacock Wedding

With it finally starting to feel like fall here in Charleston, we're super excited for this weekend's wedding!  The overall inspiration for this event is "peacock"...including stunning blues, aquas, greens, and purples.  We can't wait to share some pictures with you because it is going to be gorgeous!  But, to tide you over until we can get some actual pictures from our event for you, here's some of our inspiration for the event.

The inspiration for the color palette is the beautiful colors of a peacock.

The Pavilion at Pepper Plantation is such a beautiful space.

This waterfront scene is amazing for a ceremony.

We seriously can't wait to show you pictures from the event this coming Saturday!
Until then...xoxo!

Music Monday- Dave Landeo

If you're looking for a laid back, relaxed, and uber-talented guitarist, look no further!  Dave Landeo is an amazing guitarist located here in Charleston.  A lot of times you can find him playing at Red's Ice House on Shem Creek.  However, there are several weekends you can find him performing at weddings of our clients!  He is a magnificent guitarist and vocalist...and an absolute doll to work with!

Here's a video of Dave performing.  Enjoy!

Breath of Fresh Air

I heard from another industry professional this week that the new trend in weddings is vintage!  This is super exciting for me because I LOVE all things vintage and retro...red lipstick, birdcage veils, mirrored glass centerpieces, antique lounges, rich colors...you name it!  While we here at Carolina Food Design still love our rustic weddings (they're so Charleston!), we're thrilled for breath of fresh air!  Here are a few pictures I found that I think really encompass the new vintage trend.  Enjoy!

We love this picture taken by Juliet Elizabeth Photography at the American Theatre in Charleston, one of the most vintage-y places in town!

This milk glass vase and subdued colored flowers are perfect.

These garters are absolutely stunning!

This lounge is absolutely to-die-for!

How amazing is this dessert table?!

These dusty pink colored roses are perfect with the vintage theme...not to mention the beautiful mirrored glass accents!

Local Talent: Ronnie Johnson

Today for Music Monday we're featuring local guitarist and singer, Ronnie Johnson.  He is a local legend here in Charleston, as he has been playing in the Mount Pleasant area, specifically Wild Dunes, since 1986!  Before moving to Charleston, he spent time playing music in St. Simons Island as well as Nashville, Tennessee.  He also owns his own restaurant in Mount Pleasant called "Buddy Roe's Shrimp Shack," where the food is delicious but the live music is the main course.  On the weekends you can usually find him playing at his restaurant where music lovers come to listen to great music and get down on the dance floor!

Here's a video of Ronnie and a few of his friends!  Enjoy!
